Market focus. Often very complex company processes are affected by a highly fragmented IT infrastructure nowadays. Standard management systems have also not significantly changed this as a maximum of 25% of all company processes are efficiently and continuously mapped by such ERP applications.
A further business process area is supported by so-called Business Process Management solutions (BPM) in which longer-running part processes are supported. A variety of solutions are used for even more complex processes, for example company credits or annual financial statements. They range from very simple tools like MS Office to classical groupware tools. Such solutions however by no means represent sufficiently appropriate and efficient answers for the needs of modern company structures. Nor are they either sufficiently transparent and controllable, nor do they bear comparison with compliance requirements.
For this reason the Gartner international market research institute therefore anticipates very high demand from specialist areas for integration support for these non- programmable procedures in existing systems and also better control possibilities for end-to-end processes – an indirect call for development of the Process Enterprise tool.
